Ms. Hawes

Hello and Welcome!
 
Ms. Hawes is a part of the STEM Magnet program at Los Angeles High School and is Co-Department Chair. She teaches AP United States History, AP Human Geography, and Latin American/Mexican American Studies. Ms. Hawes graduated from The Ohio State University with her Bachelor of Arts degree, and was on the Ohio State Synchronized Swimming team for her four years there. After her time at Ohio State, Ms. Hawes moved back to Orange County and received her teaching credential from California State University, Fullerton. Ms. Hawes later returned to CSUF for her Master of Science in Educational Technology.
Ms. Hawes has spent many years in education prior to her arrival at LA High. She worked as a Substitute Teacher, College & Career Counselor, and Special Education Instructional Assistant before joining the Roman Staff. 
She is passionate about making history come alive for her students, and using technology to help support learning. Please reach out with any questions or concerns.
