AP Human Geography

Welcome to the Advanced Placement Human Geography course. This course is designed to introduce students to the systematic study of patterns and processes that have shaped human understanding, use, and alteration of Earth’s surface. Human geography incorporates the concepts and methods associated with several of the disciplines within the social sciences, including economics, geography, history, and sociology. This program prepares students for immediate and advanced college courses by making demands upon them equivalent to those made by full-year introductory college courses. Students are expected to take the A.P. Human Geography exam in May. By signing up for this course, students accept this responsibility. This course is intended to be rigorous and students are expected to complete assignments in a timely manner in order to be prepared for class.
